Lakewood Personal Training – Barbecue Marinade Recipe

With July 4th a few days away I wanted to share with you a great barbecue marinade you can use on absolutely everything! I shared this last 4th of July with the clients in my Lakewood personal training program.

Use-It-on-Everything Marinade

This delicious marinade works equally well on veggies, fish, poultry, and beef. It’s particularly tasty on London broil, tri-tips, or chuck steak. And best of all, It’s personal trainer approved!

PREPARATION TIME: 15 minutes

MARINATING TIME: overnight

MAKES: enough for 20 lb. of food

  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 whole head garlic, cloves minced
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp ground white pepper
  • 4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tsp paprika
  • 3 tsp dried basil
  • 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1¼ cups red wine vinegar
  • 4 cups (32 oz) olive oil

Mix all ingredients until well blended. Pour over food, and marinate overnight.

This is a healthy alternative to a lot of the barbeque sauces and seasonings you’re accustomed to and usually contain a lot of sugar. Plus, it tastes great!
